Athletes and spectators alike to benefit from 3DO Technology at the Ironman Coeur d' Alene

Tustin, CA June 2012– Digital Orthotics will be offering free foot imaging scans at the Coeur d' Alene City Park Ironman Village. The Ironman Village will be located at City Park. This service will start on Thursday, June 21st and continue through Sunday, June 24th between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All athletes and visitors to the expo are invited to take part in this 5 minute free scan. Each person will receive a full 3D foot and gait analysis report. The data will include weight distribution, areas of high pressure, body balance, mass displacement, phases of gait, and gait symmetry. The report can be used to determine what kind of bio-mechanical correction is needed.

Digital Orthotics uses cutting edge 3DO technology to create an extremely accurate three dimensional image of the foot in both a static and dynamic state. 3DO Technology (by Digital Orthotics, Inc.) incorporates a stable and reproducible platform for attaining neutral joint positioning. The 3DO method looks at four physical properties in determining how to control the foot:

Mass Displacement Analysis
- Evaluation of equinus effects (anterior shifting of body mass)
Rearfoot to forefoot load shifting patterns
Evaluation of propulsion patterns (toe off)
1st ray stability during midstance

Pressure Analysis
Evaluating plantar pressures of the rearfoot, midfoot, and forefoot.
Lesser metatarsal phalangeal joint pressures are evaluated
Sheer pressure evaluation

Body Balance Analysis
Ability to see the effects of balance in three body planes
Provides insight into muskoskeletal adaption

Three-dimensional plantar surfacing of the feet
Using 3-D Shape Technology, we use high resolution graphics to provide good plantar surface contouring.
Observing the movement of pressure migration along the plantar foot during gait provides valuable insight to pathology.
Rotation and evaluation of 3D objects allows for special viewing, giving the doctor and patient excellent insights into pathomechanical problems.

Digital Orthotics 3DO technology is endorsed by the U.S. Olympic Committee, the U.S. Pentagon, VA Hospitals, and is used by physicians worldwide.
